MNFCA Looks Back At 2023

We may be nearly a month into 2024, but as many know, January is often a month where movies from the previous year are still coming out.

With the month of January nearly over and many more films from 2023 now watched, several members of the MNFCA published lists, videos and podcasts sharing their thoughts on films from last year. From top 10 lists to honorable mentions, get a full look at what Minnesota Critics thought about film in 2023.

Joe Botten

At his site, Botten listed his ten best and worst films of 2023. He also shared his honorable mentions and underrated flicks.

Eli Brau

For A Cinephile’s Corner, Brau listed his 50 best films of the year.

Brian Eggert

Eggert released his Top 10 Films of 2023 on his website, Deep Focus Review.

Kelly Florence and Meg Hafdahl

Florence and Hafdahl recorded a 2023 overview episode for their podcast Horror Rewind, discussing what they have and are now watching.

Hunter Friesen

At The Cinema Dispatch, Friesen shared both his Top 10 Movies of 2023 and his 10 Worst Movies of the Year list.

Kyle Goethe

At his site GOAT Film Reviews, Goethe ranked his top 10 films of the year.

Paul McGuire Grimes

As part of his series Paul’s Trip to the Movies, Grimes produced a video listing his Top 10 of 2023.

Matt Hambidge

At his site News From the Couch, Hambidge ranked the top 50 films from 2023. Find 50-31, 30-11 and 10-1.

Eric Houston

For his Movie Man Eric series at North Metro TV, Houston produced a video sharing his top 10 films of 2023.

Matthew Liedke

For his site, Liedke listed his Ten Worst Movies of the Year and the Top 10 Best of 2023.

Ruth Maramis

At FlixChatter, Maramis listed her top 10 films of 2023 and also shared her honorable mention picks.

Mark McPherson

For his site Movies With Mark, McPherson wrote his Best Movies of 2023 list.

Nicholas Palodichuk

On the St. Paul Filmcast, Palodichuk was joined by Brian Eggert to recap their favorites from 2023.
