With another year of reviewing movies finished, Minnesota film critics have evaluated what they saw and many have ranked the best 2022 had to offer.
From lists with 10 films ranked to those with 50, the MNFCA gives insight on what pictures should be honored and remembered the most. A few even shared there thoughts on what movies were the toughest to sit through with worst of the year lists.

Joe Botten
For his site, Botten shared his picks for best and worst films of 2022.
Eli Brau
At Cinephile Corner, Brau listed his top 50 films he watched in 2022.
Brian Eggert
For Deep Focus Review, Eggert ranked his top 10 films of the past year.
Kelly Florence and Meg Hafdahl
On their podcast Horror Rewind, Florence and Hafdahl discussed their favorite movies and TV shows from the horror genre in 2022.
Hunter Friesen
At Cinema Dispatch, Friesen published both his top 10 best movies of 2022 and a list with his picks for the 10 worst films of the year.
Kyle Goethe
For his site GOAT Film Reviews, Goethe listed his top 10 films of 2022.
Paul McGuire Grimes
Grimes, host of Paul’s Trip to the Movies, released a video where he discussed his top 10 movies of 2022.
Matt Hambidge
At the site News From the Couch, Hambidge ranked the films he watched in 2022, broken into sections. The sections include 183-171, 170-151, 150-131, 130-111, 110-91, 90-71, 70-51, 50-31, 30-11, 10-1.
Danny Haslach
Haslach’s podcast FilmBird released an episode which included listing the top 10 films of 2022.
Matthew Liedke
At his site, Liedke listed both his top 10 best films of 2022 and the 10 worst movies of the year.
Ruth Maramis
For her site FlixChatter, Maramis listed her top 10 films of the year and shared 15 honorable mentions. She also published a piece about her five favorite breakout performers of 2022.
Mark McPherson
At his site Movies With Mark, McPherson listed his top 10 films of the past year.
Nicholas Palodichuk
On the St. Paul Filmcast, Palodichuk invited Eggert on the show to discuss their favorite films of 2022.
