The Alliance Lately: Issue No. 60

Jordan Peele’s work has returned to theaters with “Nope” now in cinemas.

Joe Botten

At his site, Botten reviewed new releases “Nope,” “My Old School,” “Anything’s Possible,” “The Gray Man,” “DC’s League of Super Pets,” “Vengeance,” “Not Okay,” “The Reef: Stalked,” “Resurrection” and “Bullet Train.”

He also wrote about “Jaws” before the classic’s re-release and a piece about the importance of good studio logos.

Brian Eggert

At Deep Focus Review, Eggert reviewed “Nope,” “Vengeance,” “Not Okay” and the documentary “Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, A Journey, A Song.” He also wrote about 1963’s “Harakiri” and 2011’s “The Skin I Live In.”

Kelly Florence and Meg Hafdahl

On the Horror Rewind podcast, Florence and Hafdahl discussed recent releases “The Black Phone” and “Nope.”

Joseph Froemming

For his Joe-Down series, Froemming wrote about 1995’s “Sudden Death” with Jean-Claude Van Damme.

Kyle Goethe and Nicholas Palodichuk

For their series Kyle and Nick on Film, Goethe and Palodichuk reviewed 1981’s “Absurd,” 1992’s “Reservoir Dogs,” 1995’s “Lord of Illusions” and 2012’s “Holy Motors,” as well as “Predator” and “No Way Out,” both from 1987.

At his site, Goethe also wrote a memorial piece about late actor Paul Sorvino, who passed away in late July.

Paul McGuire Grimes

For his Paul’s Trip to the Movies series, Grimes reviewed “The Gray Man,” “Nope,” “Anything’s Possible,” “Vengeance” and “Not Okay.” He also did an interview with the cast of “Not Okay,” and appeared on the July 22 and 29 episodes of Twin Cities Live.

Matt Hambidge

On News From The Couch, Hambidge reviewed the new release “Not Okay.” He also discussed “The Gray Man” in one episode of the Cinema Stubs podcast, and “Nope” in another.

Danny Haslach

In recent episodes of the FilmBird podcast, Haslach co-hosted discussions about “Thor: Love and Thunder,” as well as “Nope.”

Frank Lee

For the Brainerd Dispatch, Lee wrote about the film “Where the Crawdads Sing.”
