Minnesota film commentators continued their look at award season flicks with reviews of “The Mauritanian” and “The United States vs Billie Holiday.” Reviews were also produced about Disney’s new film “Raya and the Last Dragon.”

Joe Botten
At his site, Botten reviewed several new releases, including “The United States vs Billie Holiday,” “Cherry,” “The Vigil,” “The Stylist,” “Moxie,” “Boogie,” “Coming 2 America,” “Dreamcatcher,” “Boss Level,” “Chaos Walking,” “Son,” “Us Again,” “Raya and the Last Dragon,” and “Pixie.”
Brian Eggert
At Deep Focus Review, Eggert wrote about new dramas “I Care A Lot” and “The Mauritanian,” as well as look back reviews of 2004’s “Dawn of the Dead” and 1991’s “The Silence of the Lambs.”
Kelly Florence and Meg Hafdahl
Florence and Hafdahl’s podcast Horror Rewind covered 2014’s “The Babadook” and 2018’s “Hereditary.”
Joseph Froemming
For his Joe-Down series, Froemming and company covered 2013’s “This is the End” and 1989’s “Tango and Cash.”
Kyle Goethe
For the series Kyle and Nick on Film, Goethe was joined by fellow MNFCA member Nicholas Palodichuk to discuss 1984’s “The Karate Kid” and its 1986 sequel “The Karate Kid II.”
Paul McGuire Grimes
For his series Paul’s Trip to the Movies, Grimes reviewed new releases “The United States vs Billie Holiday,” “Cherry,” “Raya and the Last Dragon,” “Boogie” and “Coming 2 America.”
Grimes also interviewed “Da 5 Bloods” director Spike Lee, as well as the casts of “Coming 2 America” and “Cherry.” Grimes also appeared on Twin Cities Live on March 5.
Eric Houston
On the Bad Movie Bros series, Houston reviewed the 1989 adaptation of “The Punisher.”
Jeremy Lebens
At The Daily Rotation, Lebens wrote about the new Billie Eilish documentary, as well as the films “Land” and “Chaos Walking.”
Matthew Liedke
For his site, Liedke reviewed new releases “The Mauritanian,” “The United States vs Billie Holiday,” “Tom and Jerry,” “Raya and the Last Dragon,” “Boogie” and “Chaos Walking.”
Ruth Maramis
At FlixChatter, Maramis reviewed “The Mauritanian” and “Raya and the Last Dragon.” Maramis also wrote about her favorite Academy Award winners for Best Actor and Best Actress.
Mark McPherson
In recent weeks, McPherson reviewed “Raya and the Last Dragon,” wrote about the movie studio Cinestate, and also typed up a piece on “Wonder Woman 1984” for Twin Cities Geek.
Nicholas Palodichuk
For the St. Paul Filmcast, Palodichuk spoke with actor Joseph Facente and was also joined by Goethe for a special episode about movies watched during quarantine.
