MNFCA Update on Top 10s and Awards

Members of the Minnesota Film Critics Alliance are now compiling their lists for best and worst movies of the year.

When all members have finished compiling these lists, a post linking all the top 10s, with details on each person’s No. 1 movie, will be published. This post is expected to be published in February.

The timeline is based on film releases delayed because of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as theaters having been closed recently across the state of Minnesota. As of mid-January, several award contenders are not expected for release until February.

On the subject of awards, like other film critic groups, the MNFCA will honor the best movies of the previous year. Nominating and voting will begin in late February and is expected to be completed in mid-March.

This will place the MNFCA Awards around the same time period as the Critics’ Choice Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Finally, thanks to all of those who’ve followed the MNFCA on social media and here on WordPress. We’re looking forward to a good year in 2021.
